Although painting was already a huge part of Rosso’s life, having discovered her passion for art as a child, there was always the determination to gather more knowledge and fine tune her craft. Having realised that portraiture- especially realist portraiture- was Rosso’s true calling, she entered several portrait painting workshops. This resulted in Rosso enrolling in ‘basics of realist painting‘ at the London Atelier of Representational Art (LARA). In depth teaching supplemented with long hours training in her studio and even sourcing workshops led by artists who she deeply admired allowed Rosso to perfect her signature style of painting and hone it into what we know today.
Her rise in popularity and determination to pursue art full time gave Rosso the perfect opportunity- not only was she able to showcase her unique paintings, but also impart her skill onto others. Rosso’s art school was then created with the goal of gathering and sharing all the knowledge that she’s accumulated over the last 16 years of practice. Not only does this include her signature style of realism, portraiture and creating abstract figurative paintings on a large scale, but lessons on other aspects of developing a sustainable artistic practice. This includes everything from choosing surfaces, working with different mediums, why and when to use different brushes to selecting subject matter, finding quality photographic references, and mastering painting techniques.
