Meet the
ARTISTS

For 50 years we have put you, the artist, at the centre of innovation to create paint brushes for every need. Here we introduce some of our artists, delve into their art work, their creative processes and the spaces that allow them to convey their feelings and emotions. Every artist has a story, here's some of ours...

Freya Stockford

Describing herself as a minimal contemporary still life artist, Freya uses her artwork to express the placement of objects, the space in between, the objects themselves and how they interact with each other. She uses acrylic paint in order to experiment and paint quickly, capturing a moment in time.

Isaac Whitney

Rediscovering a lost passion over lockdown, Isaac took up painting in both ink and oils. While attending life drawing sessions, he uses ink to get a lot of information down quickly without the need to mix up colours. Isaac also paints in oils for more considered work that takes many layers and composition builds over time. Both mediums are focused around themes of playing with chaotic elements while still trying to remain in control.

Jemima Spence

Growing up sketching life around her, Jemima's paintings reflect this by capturing her surrounding as they happen. Her creative process starts with taking pictures in the moment before painting it in a traditional oil style. She describes her work as documenting things that she has seen and capturing the moment in which they happen.

Ranya Abdulateef

As a watercolour artist, Ranya creates patterned backgrounds and floral art that she transfers across onto textiles. Everything is done by hand, and as a mental health and wellbeing coordinator, the creativity and expression is used as a form of art therapy

Linda Golding

Meet Linda, a self taught artist based in Yorkshire. Her practice interprets the world around her in an instantly recognisable and somewhat distorted way. Linda's artwork has landed her commissions with tourist agencies across Leeds, Wakefield and Pontefract, even turning her art into merchandise!

Jake Mullins

Fine art graduate Jake Mullins uses oil paintings to depict realistic still-life compositions of private and public interiors. He is able to capture the small yet beautiful details of everyday life.

Helen Thomas

Helen sketches and paints plants within their environments, painting outside to capture them directly from observation with the sense of everything changing. Contrasting this, Helen's studio approach of working from images means focusing more on colours and paints used

Tommy Egan

Tommy, as an experimental painter, uses the different viscosities of oils to produce his artwork. He describes his process as a constantly changing journey, as you never know what might me more appealing down the line- sometimes a piece can completely change after months of work upon a new idea or realisation.
